ZUKUNFT TANZT - Abend der jungen Choreografie 2021

The third edition of ZUKUNFT TANZT - Abend der jungen Choreografie again wants to create space for choreographers of all ages who understand themselves at the beginning of their choreographic career. This year, the act of choreography will actively be in focus. During the six days there is the opportunity to further develop the piece and your own way of working in a choreographic laboratory by trying out, exchanging and thinking further through specific program points. What interests choreographers in contemporary dance and its various directions, what moves and influences their own work? Two performance evenings are intended to show your work and to bring the process of the piece further.

The entire team remains optimistic that the festival will take place in one form or another despite all the uncertainties.

Who can apply?

 

• Due to the uncertain course of the Covid19 pandemic and the entry restrictions, only applications from Germany can be accepted

• People whose work is still in the process and who would like to use the festival as an opportunity to develop it further and show it on a stage

• Group sizes of 1 to 4 people involved with a piece length between 5 and 20 minutes

• Due to the varied character of the evening, it is necessary to assemble and dismantle the pieces easily

• Also people who are still studying or who have not completed a degree in dance or choreography

• Only people who can be present for the entire duration of the festival

What does the festival offer?

 

• Two performance evenings in a theater suitable for dance on September 10th & 11th

• Three rehearsal days plus a general rehearsal with the provision of a technician

• Video and photo documentation of the work

• Provision of promotional activities

• Performance flat rate of a total of 500 € per participant

• Participation in workshops and lectures

• Exchange with other artists

• Connection with the Frankfurt audience

• Participation in artist talks

• Possibility to lead a physical introduction

What does the application have to include?

 

• Short biography with details of the current place of residence (max. 600 characters)

• What phase is your project in?

• What is the aim to find out and research with this project? Where lays the interest?

This can be both technical and content-related. (max. 3000 characters)

• Description of the artistic implementation of this research interest with the planned piece length (max. 3000 characters)

• Video material of 2-7 minutes of the previous process

 

The jury consists of the Co-Op Dance Company, Qadira Oechsel-Ali (dancer / choreographer), Nica Berndt-Caccivio (choreographer / performer) and Gal Fefferman (performer / dancer / choreographer).
